Fashion is never just fabric. A handbag is never just a handbag. A runway show is never just a runway show. Luxury sells fantasy, status, craft, history, rebellion, restraint, excess, morality, and sometimes a truly impressive amount of nonsense.
Modescript exists somewhere between admiration and suspicion.
I love fashion: the craft, the beauty, the drama, and the narratives that keep us invested. But I’m also interested in in how the underlying mechanisms are designed to generate desire and worship.
Modescript covers runway, luxury, celebrity branding, price logic, fashion scandals, and the wider culture that makes all of it matter.
The point is not to hate fashion. The point is to take it seriously enough to question it.
